The newly released book by The Meadows Senior Fellow Alexandra Katehakis, MFT, CSAT-S, CST-S, Mirror of Intimacy, contains a year’s worth of daily reflections that explore and support the range of human sexualities as a divine gift and a human right. The reflections reference a rich array of approaches: attachment theory, mind/body nexus, neurobiology, 12-step principles, meditation techniques, Eastern and Western philosophy, and ancient world myths. The book examines 366 topics related to sex and sexuality.

Aided by a strong background in sex therapy, Katehakis reflects on what it means to explore and understand one’s sexuality through healthy, accessible meditations for those on a spiritual path to recovery from love or sex addiction.

In her book, Katehakis explains, “To develop emotional and erotic intelligence we need to practice enlarging our inner passion at every moment. It doesn’t matter what’s going on in our world, or even how we feel about ourselves in the moment. In fact, the best time to accomplish something may be when we least feel like trying, because the hopeless part of ourselves most needs the light.”
