Outpatient care may be part of what your Anthem policy covers. Our admissions team can confirm the details before you make a decision.
Outpatient Mental Health and Addiction Treatment in Colorado
If your medical coverage comes through Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Colorado, your policy may include outpatient benefits for mental health conditions, substance use disorders, trauma, and co-occurring diagnoses.
The Meadows Outpatient Center in Denver is located on South Syracuse Street in the Denver Tech Center, close to the I-25 and I-225 interchange. Patients living farther out along the Front Range or on the Western Slope may be eligible for our virtual intensive outpatient track.
How much of the cost your plan absorbs comes down to the policy itself, the level of care your clinician recommends, whether the service meets medical-necessity criteria, and how The Meadows sits within your network.
Our Admissions Team can review your benefits with you and explain what they mean in practice, including the costs you should expect and what happens next.
Does Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Colorado Cover Outpatient Treatment?
Anthem plans issued in Colorado commonly include outpatient behavioral health benefits for mental health conditions, substance use disorders, trauma, and co-occurring diagnoses.
Behavioral health benefits for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and HMO Colorado members are administered by Carelon Behavioral Health, so authorization and network questions for programs like ours typically route through Carelon.
A Verification of Benefits from The Meadows’ Admissions Team will tell you your network status, your expected share of the cost, and whether prior authorization is required. What comes back reflects the plan’s report on that day. It is not a guarantee of payment, coverage, or final authorization.

Outpatient Programs That May Be Covered

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP sits at the top of the outpatient range. It fits people who need structured clinical support through most of the day yet are stable enough to return home at night rather than stay in a hospital.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP schedules between nine and twenty hours of on-site programming per week across daytime and evening tracks, which lets patients hold onto work, school, or caregiving commitments while in treatment.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient (Virtual IOP)
Colorado residents who live too far from the Denver Tech Center location, or who need to take part from home, may be eligible for Virtual IOP. The curriculum follows the on-site program and is delivered over a secure video connection.
They changed my life. Now I have a career helping people who struggle with mental health and addiction as I did.

Why Colorado Patients Choose The Meadows
A Clinical Model With Depth
Our Colorado programming is built on the Meadows Model developed by Pia Mellody and runs an eight-week curriculum alongside evidence-based therapies. Treatment addresses the difficulties a patient is facing now while also working through the history beneath them.

Plans Shaped to the Person
We look closely at a patient’s background, current symptoms, goals, and daily obligations before settling on a level of care. What follows is a plan built for that individual rather than a standard track.
Care That Extends Past Discharge
Patients finishing treatment at The Meadows frequently report steadier well-being, greater independence, and stronger relationships. Tools such as Meadows Daily+, our secure patient support app, help carry that work forward between sessions and after the program ends.
