Conference season is in full swing! Here’s a summary of summer events where you can hear our expert staff and advisors speak about the latest and greatest advancements in behavioral health.

The International Trauma Conference – Boston, MA
May 31 – June 3, 2017

  • Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, a Senior Fellow at The Meadows, is serving as director of The 28th Annual International Trauma Conference and will deliver a presentation titled, “Self and Identity in Traumatic Stress: From ‘Fixation on the Trauma’, to Resuming the Arc of One’s Life”

Conference on Behavioral Health and Addictive Disorders – Seattle, WA
May 31 – June 3, 2017

  • Shelley Uram, MD, Senior Fellow at The Meadows, will deliver a presentation on “Essential Living: A Guide to Having Happiness and Peace by Reclaiming Your Essential Self and will offer a workshop on how to align brain function with the Essential Self.
  • Erica Sarr, PsyD, Therapist at Gentle Path at the Meadows will give a presentation titled, “Standing in Fire: Considering Problematic or Compulsive Video Game Use.”

Arizona Pharmacy Association Annual Convention – Tucson, AZ
June 8 – 11, 2017

  • Kevin McCauley, MD, Senior Fellow at The Meadows, will deliver a presentation titled “The Brain and Recovery: An Update on The Neuroscience of Addiction.”

Colorado Association of Addiction Professionals Conference – Lakewood, CO
June 16, 2017

  • Monica Meyer, Ph.D, will deliver a keynote address titled, “Sex Addiction as an Intimacy Disorder: Supporting Partners and Families Impacted by Sex Addiction.”
  • Shelley Uram, MD, will deliver a keynote address titled, “Connecting the Dots: Psychological Trauma, the Brain and the Family.”

July 24 – 26, 2017

  • Terry Egan, MD, Senior Fellow at The Meadows will present “Compassion Fatigue: When Helping Others Makes Us Vulnerable.”
