Recently Jenna Pastore, Director of Business Development East Region for The Meadows, teamed up with Beth Easter, LADAC, CSAT to host an afternoon of self-care and creative expression through art. Clinicians from the Nashville, Tennessee area, put aside their jackets, letters, and logo on April 29, 2015 and got to know each other in a different and fun way.
The Free-A-Tive Experience is a story sculpting workshop platform created by Beth Easter. Beth has over 20 years’ experience as a therapist and completed a storytelling graduate program several years ago. She is a gifted artist in her own right and created this unique workshop experience combining storytelling, painting and meditation to help those in the “helping professions” to tap into their creativity.
Beth shared her thoughts on the concept that she offers by facilitating this event “Building time in our lives for creativity, fun, and laughter may be the greatest gift we have to give our clients and patients,” Beth said. “We’ve all heard, “We can’t give away what we don’t have.” Let’s enjoy a time of color, creativity, storytelling and honoring the work we do.”
According to Jenna, guests had a great time creating their “stories” and sharing them with the group. “I am so grateful for the chance to work with Beth and bring this giveback opportunity to area mental health professionals,” Jenna said. “The experience personally moved me; I connected with a wonderful memory that I was able to story sculpt and bring to life on canvas! I think all professionals could benefit from this workshop.”
