Free Lecture Series - Austin, Texas, May 12, 2011
Cynthia Schiebel, M.Ed, LPC-S, LCDC, ACPS will be speaking for The Meadows Austin Lecture Series on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Riverbend Church, the Quad, 4214 Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, TX 78746.
The title of the presentation is "Boundaries, Boundaries Everywhere".
Boundaries - the "hub of the wheel", the foundation to our ability to fully experience self, others and our environment. Healthy boundaries help us contain and protect our reality, acknowledge our value and worth, and foster balance in our core self-care areas (physical, mental emotional and spiritual). Appropriate boundaries also help us to have our voice and to heal others' voices with respect and compassion.
Participants will define external and internal boundary systems, examine appropriate boundaries and boundary violations, experience exercises for establishing/practicing healthy boundaries (including talking and listening boundaries) and transfer learning to personal and professional settings.
