Thirty-five years ago an idea was born—an idea to transform the way addictions were treated—an idea to create a revolutionary new therapeutic model that incorporated trauma resolution, 12-step traditions and the holistic healing of mind, body and spirit. That idea took shape as a small alcohol treatment facility for only seven patients, but quickly grew into what it is today—America’s premier center for the treatment of addiction and trauma with over 18,000 patients from around the world. Over the years, The Meadows has had an enormous impact on mental health industry, training thousands of therapists and treatment providers on the Meadows Model—widely accepted as one of the most advanced and effective methods of treating addiction and trauma. On this, our 35th anniversary year, The Meadows wishes to take time out to salute all the talented and dedicated people who helped make that idea a reality.
