Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Displays the necessary skills to work with complex family issues in a group setting. Assesses each family member’s level of functioning. Refers for additional assessment when appropriate.
2. Knowledgeable of individual patient and family dynamics in the early stages of treatment.
3. Prepares family members for experiential work utilizing a format suitable to the family’s unique needs. Demonstrates creativity and sensitivity while facilitating this work.
4. Is prepared to conduct primary group sessions, grief sessions and to co-facilitate disclosure sessions.
5. Conducts topic groups, displaying good theoretical knowledge of subject matter and effective communication skills in delivering material.
6. Completes all documentation including treatment planning, progress notes and discharge summaries, maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
7. Maintains appropriate and timely communication with family members and other significant contacts conveying a positive, professional image.
8. Utilizes supervisory feedback to improve performance.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or related field is preferred.
2. At least two years of clinical experience working with addictions, psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis.
3. Licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners is required.
4. If recovering from chemical dependence or other addictions, must be in recovery for a minimum of two years.
5. Knowledge and experience with 12 step recovery programs.
6. Must be able to speak, read and write English.
7. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
8. Ability to type/work on computer for extended periods of time.
