Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions with assigned groups of patients demonstrating knowledge of codependency and the principles and techniques of group therapy.
2. Conducts Survivors I and II, Couples, Family, Love Addiction/Love Avoidant, and gender specific Sexual Recovery workshops.
3. Assesses each patient’s level of functioning and refers for additional assessment when appropriate.
4. Demonstrates flexibility in treatment modalities in addressing individual patient needs.
5. Conducts topic group sessions, displaying good theoretical knowledge of subject matter and demonstrates effective communication skills in delivering material.
6. Completes all documentation of the workshop experience maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
7. Collaborates with other Survivors counselors in weekly scheduling, lecture assignments and other therapeutic tasks.
8. Collaborates with patients’ counselors and workshop participants’ referents on an ongoing basis to share pertinent data related to that individual’s personal issues.
9. Utilizes supervision as a way to enhance and improve performance.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or related field is preferred.
2. A minimum of two years of clinical experience working with addictions, psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis is required.
3. Licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners is required.
4. If recovering from chemical dependence or other addictions, must be in recovery for a minimum of two years.
5. Knowledge and experience with 12 step recovery programs.
6. Must be able to speak, read and write English.
7. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
